CANINE CRUCIATE LIGAMENT DEFICIENCY

If you have not dealt with this problem you probably know somebody who has.  This is by far the most common orthopedic condition we see in dogs, especially large breed dogs.  The cranial or anterior cruciate ligament (ccl or acl) is located in the stifle (knee) joint.  This ligament is commonly injured in people and so most of us recognize the name.  The differences in the injury between people and dogs are remarkable, basically because of the differences in bipeds and quadrapeds.
